Description
The poem "In Flanders Fields" was written by World War I Colonel John McCrae, a surgeon with Canada's First Brigade Artillery. It expressed McCrae's grief over the "row on row" of graves of soldiers who had died on Flanders' battlefields, located in a region of western Belgium and northern France.
These American flags commemorating those who gave their lives for their country were displayed from November 1 - 11, 2019 on Rotary Hill in Naperville, IL to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I.
